Mixed Doubles: An entertainment on Marriage, a collaboration of some of England’s most highly respected playwrights, including Harold Pinter, Alan Ayckbourn, George Melly, Faye Weldon, John Bowen, Lyndon Brook, David Campton, Alun Owen and James Ssunders.

Mixed Doubles is made up of eight dramatic sketches, each presenting a different stage of marriage, from the exchange of rings to the marking of an anniversary. They are brought together by a series of anti-authoritarian monologues written by George Melly. In the course of the programme the characters of Mixed Doubles appear to be plagued by everyday trivialities, their pasts, their work and their marital problems, all exposed with a touch of exquisite irony.
